Hi, I’m Cecilia!
Using an integrative massage approach, Cecilia provides a nurturing, therapeutic, and deeply relaxing experience. She meets each client where they are as an individual, holding space for them to feel supported and safe. When necessary, she employs firm/deep bodywork and trigger point therapy on areas that hold tension. Her work aims to support each person, and facilitate physical and emotional healing with an objective to improve overall well-being.
Cecilia enjoys working with a wide variety of bodies to address their specific needs but her goal remains the same; to help clients move toward wholeness and connection of mind, body, and spirit. She loves massage because she is empowered by the embodiment it requires of herself and the person she is massaging.
At her core, Cecilia is a caregiver who strongly believes in self-care. She loves receiving massage, attending kundalini yoga classes, and spending time at her favorite seaside locations to chase the sunrise and sunset. She is an avid road cyclist, with aspirations of becoming a great mountain biker, and cyclo-cross rider.
Cecilia earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island in 2007, and spent the last 10 years working with at-risk youth, adolescents, and adults on various health behavior projects. While the work was meaningful, she needed more connection, and she decided to nurture her dreams and pursue a degree in Therapeutic Massage in 2017. In December, 2019, Cecilia graduated with an A.S. in Therapeutic Massage from the Community College of Rhode Island, where she received training in various modalities including Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, and Sports Massage. She earned highest honors, and received a clinical excellence award for her honors project, and field research work. Cecilia received 60 hours of hospital-based oncology massage training through her internship as well as training in myofascial scar release for burn scars. She continues to learn through additional education and training opportunities.
Cecilia completed a 5 ½ day training (with 45-hours of contact time) to receive certification in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD). The training was based on the techniques develops by Dr. Emil Vodder, Ph.D., MT.
Her family and friends call her Cece, and you can do the same.
Have you ever seen
anything
in your life
more wonderful
than the way the sun,
every evening,
relaxed and easy,
floats toward
the horizon
