Massage Therapy and Bodywork is supposed to be a time of relaxation and enjoyment. If you’re uncomfortable or feel unsafe for any reason, please let me know. Receiving bodywork is a different journey for each individual, and each person will experience great variation in physical touch and the emotions it may release. Open communication facilitates the best experience possible, and ensures that you will receive the therapy you deserve.
You have the right to refuse massage on any area of your body. We will discuss your physical boundaries prior to your first appointment and through your client intake form but you can ask me to avoid any areas of your body without explanation.
If you want to pause or stop the session and leave for any reason, please tell me. This could include anything from feeling sick, needing to use the restroom, or just not enjoying the experience.
The massage room is a safe space for all clients. What happens in the massage room stays confidential but my hope is that the physical and emotional benefits of your massage therapy travel with you back into your life.
Let me know what you liked, and also what I can do better. All feedback is helpful and can be shared via the client feedback form on our website. (link)
Thank you for choosing me as your massage therapist. I truly love this work, and hope to see you again and again!
Now, take a deep breath as you begin your journey to relaxation and restoration.
Policies and Procedures
ARRIVAL POLICY
Please try to arrive 15 minutes early. This allows time to settle into the relaxed environment of your experience. I regret that late arrivals will not receive extension of scheduled massage appointments. When the schedule will allow, I may be able to accommodate a partial or full appointment. This will be at my discretion and only through appropriate communication. The original reservation fee will be charged.
STANDARD MASSAGE ROOM PROCEDURES
The client may choose to leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort.
The client will always be modestly draped. Only the area being massaged will be undraped. The clients will be kept informed of the area to be massaged.
The breast and genital area will not be massaged under any circumstances. Permission will be asked before working in regions close to these areas such as the chest and glutes.
Children, under the age of eighteen, will not be seen without a parent or guardian present in the therapy room.
The therapy room door is never locked.
These procedures and policies apply to all clients regardless of sex, sexual preference, religion or ethnic origin.
RESPECT OF CLIENT BOUNDARIES
In this partnership, it is important that the client is honest and open with the massage therapist. I can adjust pressure, temperature, music, etc. Please let me know if you experience discomfort at any time.
I can work more or less on certain areas, or avoid them altogether based on your personal preference.
I encourage feedback about the effectiveness of the work, including which massage techniques you enjoyed, and massage techniques that you did not like.
Please feel free to share this information with us as you become aware of it, or after you’ve had more time to process. I have a client feedback form that you may fill out anonymously.
CONVERSATION AND CONFIDENTIALITY
The discussion between the massage therapist and the client is confidential. The client may or may not choose to talk during the massage.
I am happy to listen to you, and share professional expertise if desired.
I prefer to not discuss topics of a political, religious, or sexual nature.
I may be required to release records under a court order, or to your doctor.

RIGHTS OF REFUSAL
As a Licensed Massage Therapist, I have the right to refuse service to any client if I feel it is in the best interests of a client's health, or for my personal safety.
I have the right to end the service for any reason and at any time with full payment of service.
Requests for sexual activity will not be tolerated, will be viewed as solicitation, and reported to the proper authorities under the guidelines of the onsite massage therapy policies and procedures. The client will not be rescheduled if this occurs.
Sexual interaction or discussion of any kind between the client and the massage therapist is never appropriate.
The client may stop the massage at any time and is free to leave.
The client may refuse any massage methods.
for you to see beauty here
does not mean
there is beauty in me
it means there is beauty rooted
so deep within you
you can't help but
see it everywhere
